Edward R.Tufte是Graphical Display / Information Graphics这个领域的顶尖牛人，我对这个方面也一直都非常感兴趣。想把他的所有书籍一本本看过去（图书馆居然只有3本，已经推荐购买其他的，不知什么时候能到 ），就从这本开始。 这本书的核心思想就是下面这两点： 真实：“Graphical excellence requires telling the truth about the data.” 简明：“Graphical excellence is that which gives to the viewer the greatest number of ideas in the shortest time with the least ink in the smaller space.” 关于真实： 图表中非常常见的一类欺骗就是，用与数据不成比例的视觉图像夸大显示数据，Tufte还提出了欺骗指数： Lie Factor=Size of effect shown in graphic/Size of effect in [...]
